What should be cited?

The best way that I can explain citations and what should be cited is this. If you didn’t know the information before you began writing then you need to cite where you got the information from. For example in my research of livable wages. I did not know the tax rate for the state of Alabama. I researched and learned that it is 9.5% I made a note of the website were I learned this information from and I will add it to my citation list. Citations also help build credibility to your paper. I have something showing proof of what I am stating, its not a number I made up and the reader can go to my citation paper and see the same information to understand the same conclusions I may come to.
