Best Friends

What makes an ideal best friend to me is a person who is genuine in their friendship towards you. They will know everything about you and still like you. A best friend will have my back no matter what. For me   This is a hard topic. I had a best friend who I thought was ideal. We knew each other since the fourth grade and became best friends in High school. It took me almost 30 years to finally see that she was not a friend to me. I believe that I held on to silly things like the length of time we knew each other, and all the trouble we got into and out of. I believe I ignored the now obvious red flags that she was not a friend to me. 

With all that being said. I have come to realize that my truly ideal best friend should and could be my husband. It will take that best friend relationship to help get you through the low points in a marriage. Your spouse should be the one you confide in and who has your back as you have theirs
